Business Plan Development Support

The Vulnerable Youth and Women Support Project (VYWoSP) seeks to enhance economic opportunities for youth and women, particularly in rural regions of the Gambia. This initiative focuses on building entrepreneurial skills, providing access to technical training, and strengthening business development services. By targeting youth aged 15-35, the project empowers them with the tools needed for self-sustainability, reduces unemployment, and contributes to the economic development of the CRR and URR regions.

Objectives:

To create employment opportunities for youth and women entrepreneurs in rural areas.

To strengthen youth and women’s involvement in agricultural value chains, such as poultry, horticulture, and fisheries.

To improve governance of migration by reintegrating migrant returnees through entrepreneurship training.

Activities:

Providing business skills, financial literacy, and market linkages.

Offering technical training in agricultural sectors (poultry, horticulture, fisheries).

Developing business coaches’ capacity to mentor youth in micro-enterprise creation.

Offering apprenticeship and entrepreneurial skills for migrant returnees.

Coverage:

The project is focused on the Central River Region (CRR) and Upper River Region (URR) of the Gambia.Offering apprenticeship and entrepreneurial skills for migrant returnees.

Beneficiaries

Target Groups:

Vulnerable youth and women, including migrant returnees.

Low-skilled youth, especially those aged 15-35.

  

Number of Beneficiaries:

Approximately 1000 youth and women will benefit from entrepreneurship development services, technical and vocational skills, and market linkages.
